I was born in Milan, with a passion for photography, from a very young age. I fed this passion steadily, firstly attending IED and then, in 1990, I dedicated 5 years to learning the ropes, in a studio in the city center, dealing mainly with jewelry and packing.
My life has taken a strong turn of events since 1990, through the active collaboration of Huber Images of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, who specialize in stock travel and also with the birth of the magazines Bell’Italia and Bell’Europa of Giorgio Mondadori, where I still work, for over 20 years.
At the time, for landscapes, I used large format and often medium. – the highest quality level – which was a rare choice for travel photographes. But it was thanks to this that my work started to be appreciated. Since then, not only have I become a correspondent for Le Figaro Magazine and the major tourist magazines of Italy but since 1997, I have partnered with Sime who distributes my images all over the world for books, magazines, guides and commercials.
However one theme facinates me more that the rest: the world of high level cusine. The taste of a dish passes also through the eyes and the challenge is to create a photograph of the intense flavours similar to a starred chefs creation. Or to highlight the beauty and quality of a hotel room.
With time I have managed to create a style of my own. It is the desire to be unique, to move away from the “common and already seen” that encourages me to look for different shots even of everyday subjects. My aim is that a well thought out shot leaves an immediate emotion for those who see it. It is a defined idea by my own existence, curiosity and enthusiasm, always present in my work. Last but not least, to be able to live doing something that I love so much.
